UGLY THE LAST SUPPER AT THE REGAL WETHERSPOONS

Taken from Ugly's biblical-themed release Sunday School, new a-side ‘The Last Supper at the Regal Wetherspoons’ is a jangly indie-surf jam that nonchalantly flirts between the lethargic sounds of The Buttertones, Mac DeMarco and King Krule. Following the excellent b-side 'Redemption, on the Road to Damascus', 'The Last Supper' pairs seething baritone vocals with eerie organ parts and delay-drenched guitars. Spanning, a substantial 5 minutes and 54 seconds, the Cambridge quintet swoon continuously between quiet, melodic vocal breaks and frenzied guitar wig outs, which tumble towards an unhinged ending. Sunday School is out now digitally via Strong Island Recordings and will be given a physical release on 7" vinyl on the 10th of December courtesy of Sport Team's brand new label, Holm Front. -Harry Martin
